In this process, unfired pots are buried in a pit with natural materials like wood shavings, leaves, sawdust, salts, and oxides. The pit is ignited, and flames work unpredictably to create stunning, smoky surface patterns and earthy color shifts that cannot be replicated. The temperature reached is 800-1,000 Celsius.
